Atlanta Photo Walk - April 21

We have started a new type of workshop, a PHOTO WALK, they range from 2-3 hours and visit a variety of neighborhoods in and around Atlanta. It's a great way for photogs (beginners to pros) to get together for a few hours and go out and photograph some of Atlanta's interesting places. I also provide in the field instruction, tips and techniques during the PHOTO WALK. It's fun, you get to photograph new places and learn something too.

Portraits on Location

Here's a few samples from out 'Portraits on Location' class. We met at the Showcase School for a few hours of lecture and tech info and then headed out to the location - Belly General Store in the Virginia-Highlands neighborhood in Atlanta. Belly was a great backdrop to practice our location lighting and metering techniques, with a mix of strobe, incandescent and natural light, balancing them all to create a pleasing photo.

Shannon had her moment in the spotlight with another example of controlling the mix of light (strobe and sunlight).

Sorry, I couldn't resist ... I have made a selection of some of my favorite photos from the afternoon and unfortunately I've gone over the number you said, but I just couldn't decide. I hope you don't mind if I send you more photos than you had asked for, but you can choose what you want to include in the blog if you'd like. I'd like your opinion as well, if you have the time.

Really great attention to detail and color, you've taken what could be mundane images and by framing them and looking at the colors and textures, created some wonderfully textured detail shots. {Judith Pishnery}
